The AFA Launches Cutting Edge Fundraising Campaign
Mission: Family - Give without Spending More
August 17, New York City - The American Fertility Association (The AFA) is launching a new and innovative fundraising campaign, which allows donors to support the organization’s work without actually giving money. Through its Card Lab Connect program, Capital One makes a contribution to The AFA every time someone uses an AFA-branded Capital One Platinum VISA® card. Mission: Family, the name of the AFA-branded credit card program powered by Capital One, is designed to help The AFA move forward its mission to prevent infertility whenever possible and help people build families of choice, particularly when faced with infertility.
“We’re asking folks who want to support The AFA to simply sign-up for the card. The AFA gets $25.00 from Capital One from each account, after the first purchase is made. Capital One also donates one percent of all card purchases to The AFA,” says Ken Mosesian, Executive Director of The AFA. Melinda Micciola, Operations Director of The AFA continued, “The Mission: Family Capital One card fits these current economic times perfectly. We realize people may want to financially support The AFA, but are being extra cautious with their money. This allows them to donate simply by making everyday purchases without an extra dime out of their pockets.”
The Mission: Family Capital One credit card offers an introductory rate of 0% interest on purchases until May 2010, so in addition to helping The AFA, the program also helps professionals, patients, and businesses with an opportunity to purchase goods and services at this special rate. Three beautiful design choices are available for the card, allowing card members to customize their cards.
The American Fertility Association is a 501 (c)(3), national non-profit organization. Over the past decade, The AFA has established itself as a leading, trusted source for consumer information, initially serving the needs of the infertile community, and now serving all those interested in creating family, including lesbian and gay persons. The AFA, which relies solely on donations, sponsorships and grants, has successfully continued doing its work, even in the midst of the current economy. Mission: Family from Capital One will allow the organization to raise needed funds – passively – as demand for the organization’s services continues to grow.
The AFA is committed to providing the most comprehensive and accurate information through its extensive website and leading-edge education outreach programs. With more than 2,600 web sessions a day and 638,000 impressions this past month alone through its Google AdWords campaign, The AFA is successfully moving the conversation about fertility and infertility into the mainstream of conversation.
